Make A Shortcut Edit Menus In GNOME 2.3
This time i am going to explain how to make shortcut edit menus programs in any Linux distribution and only for desktop environment GNOME 2.3
There is no need to use a command line. It just GUI desktop to create shortcut.
So, let’s do this. I am just make a quick tips.
Usually, in default GNOME 2.3, this picture would be like this:
Right-click applications at left-up corner, then click “Edit Menus”
In main menu, let’s just say that i make an new item for games (for example OpenTTD). Click Games in the list menus, then click “New Item”
In Create Launcher, there is 5 sections that you need to fill for better:
- Icon: click that icon like spring platform and find that icon program you may like. Let’s just say for example OpenTTD icon at /home/username/openttd/media (depending where do you save location)
-Type: There is 3 types which is Application, Application in Terminal and Location. Just choose type “Application”
-Name: Just name program it you may like
-Command: This is where do you execute file. Let’s just say for example OpenTTD icon at /home/username/openttd/openttd (depending where do you save location)
-Comment: This comment will be appear when you hover menu programs something and it’s optional. So, it’s up to you want fill it or not.
After i fill them, this would be like this:
Ta-da. Let-s try to tun it at Applications-Games-OpenTTD. Works perfectly. And you can also create shortcut desktop and panel.
